The Blackfish is one of the most recognized raceboards in the world of SUP.  Infinity is always pushing the limits of the all around race design and this latest version by renowned SUP designer Dave Boehne bleeds the lines of all around versatility and flat water speed.

Blackfish got all new Team Elite Tech2 Carbon construction in that the entire EPS foam core is built with a PVC shell then wrapped in carbon fiber which resulted in the lightest and even more durable Blackfish boards we have ever made. Our experience in building boards and working with composites for over 50 years we were able to make some small adjustments to the layup which resulted in some nice drop in weight for all of the boards. We feel our new construction offers the best strength to weight ratio in the market. Infinity is known for our quality and the level has been taken up another notch.

The Blackfish is the All-Around savant and has influenced an industry with the original hybrid planning hull surf concepts applied to SUP race designs.

This board has showed it’s versatility year after year winning multiple world titles, gold medals, flat water sprints, flat water distance wins, and of course many victories in the ocean and surf races around the globe.  Piloted under the feet of some of the worlds best Candice Appleby, Arthur Arutkin, Donato Freens, Juliette Duhaime, Mariecarmen Rivera, Riccardo Rossi, Campbell Carter and Kai Lenny. Just to name a few of the FREAKS!

Blackfish is fast off the line, stable in all conditions, and a true one board quiver to conquer anything mother nature throws at you.

Many top board manufacturers have adopted the center channel concept originally developed by Infinity in 2014. This Blackfish features a completely re-designed nose and bottom update which takes the DNA of the Blackfish to the next level.

The NEW nose is a big deal and the first design change to the nose since its inception. The nose got taller, sharper, and pulled in to more of a point.  The volume has been pulled back holding until it drops before the standing zone.

The idea was to increase the efficiency of the board specifically in upwind conditions. The nose is taller with a sharper entry which “stabs” the swell in front while providing a finer and more quieter entry in flat water which translates to increased flat water glide. Increased efficiency grinding into chop plus flat water glide.

The bottom is a planning hull hybrid and is able to paddle in all conditions. The stability is built through the outline. The bottom features a rolled hull framing a shallow and narrower inverse vee panel that releases cleanly off a subtle vee exit behind the fin. The soft rounded hull moves and slips through the water with a slight parting of the water at the entry. This makes for very fast “get up and go” and non governing max sprint speeds. “Like skipping a stone” Blackfish likes to sprint off the line.

This “flat deck” original version is a true flat style deck with just 1.5″ of recess in the deck. This gives you a sure-footed stance and max-width. Flat decks are the preferred style for riders who constantly go in and out of the surf, like to walk and move about the board a lot, and want a no-frills paddling experience.

New for 2025 with requests from our team we have sunken the flat deck approx .5″ deeper and added a single drain under the handle in the narrower sizes 21.5″ and 23″ the wider versions have the standard flat deck and no drain needed.

These boards are a special collaboration with our long time team rider and undisputed GOAT of  the women’s SUP world Candice Appleby!

Candice is known the world over for her legendary accomplishments as a competitor and is quickly becoming one of the best coaches to many paddlers through her Ocean Academy. Simply put Candice knows paddling and she knows her equipment.

This series Blackfish shares the same design as Candice’s favorite board the Blackfish Flatdeck, with the lighter weight rider in mind. Finally smaller, lighter riders can take advantage of a custom designed board and reach their full potential.  Matching sizes with a specifically tuned rider weight to volume ratio. There is no difference between this board and the standard Blackfish in terms of shape.

Specific volume and sizing across the line as well as being offered in a personally designed colorway by Candice herself! Multiple handle configurations, Original Blackfish light weight low profile traction in Black and large padded carry handle and premium Infinity carbon fiber race fin comes standard.
